Upon arrival at the Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport, you will be received warmly by our representative. You will then be escorted to your vehicle to begin your holiday in Sri Lanka. Your first destination will be Chilaw. Chilaw. Located almost 2 hours away, North of Colombo, Chilaw offers you a perfect holiday destination with its beautiful lagoon, turquoise dazzling ocean with an abundance of marine life, mangrove- fringed lakes, golden sun kissed beaches filtered by coconut trees, luxury accommodation and significant places of worship. Chilaw’s significance does not end there as it is also the home town of two freedom fighters, Charles Corea and Victor Corea that fought for Sri Lanka’s independence during the colonial days. Munneswaram Hindu Temple Manavari Kovil Suvisuddharmaya Buddhist Temple Chilaw Silver Beach Sigiriya (UNESCO World Heritage Site) The rocky outcrop of Sigiriya holds the ancient remains of King Kassapa’s palace from the 5th century AD. The top is reachable by stairs built on the side of the mountain and features the Lion Rock and the remains of the palace and fortress. Visitors will see the magnificence of the place when they reach the top, complete with a 360-degree view of the jungle below. The water reservoirs that collect rainwater are still there and in good condition. Sigiriya was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1982. Dambulla (UNESCO World Heritage Site) The Golden Dambulla Cave Temple has been a pilgrimage destination for the past 22 centuries. It’s also the largest and best- preserved cave temple on the island (there are others). The Dambulla Cave Temple was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1991 in order to preserve the magnificent wall paintings and over 150 statues in and around the temple. Breakfast at the Hotel Kandy (UNESCO World Heritage Site) Kandy, a mountain city in Sri Lanka, was home to the Sinhalese kings from 1592 to 1815. It is also the site of Sri Dalada Maligawa, also called the Temple of the Tooth, as a special container holds a tooth of the Buddha. Over the years, the relic came to be very important politically; the belief was that the holder of the sacred tooth was the one who would have power over the Buddhist population. The Sacred City of Kandy was appointed the status of World Heritage Site in 1988, mainly due to the Temple of the Tooth. Places you will be visiting in Kandy. Breakfast at the Hotel Nuwara Eliya The ‘Little England’ of Sri Lanka, is set against beautiful backdrops of Mountains, Valleys, Waterfalls and Tea Plantations.
